Sony NEX-VG10 / NEX-VG10E Model Highlights: 1920 x 1080 Full HD video recording, large Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, Quad Capsule Spatial Array stereo mic, 14MP still image capture, A-mount lens compatible via adaptor, E-mount 18-200mm zoom lens included. The NEX-VG10 is compatible with Sony E-mount Series of smaller, lighter lenses which are optimized for video shooting with silent operation and autofocus, as well as Sony α and Konica Minolta A-mount lenses (via optional LA-EA1 adapter). The NEX-VG10 has the same sensor format that Sony builds into the full-sized α DSLRs. Sony NEX VG-10 Autofocus Test
A quick test on how well the autofocus performs on the Sony NEX VG-10 Interchangeable Lens Camcorder. The result is impressive! It's smart enough to lock and hold focus that was defined as subject. Even when zoomed out, it will still hold on to the correct plane of focus.

This light and camera is a great duo. There's a bit of grain in the black shirt, but that was the first test with out messing around with settings. I love the camera and the light. Next is the lens Novaflex adapter and a Minolta 50mm f1.4 lens!

www.matthewwrightmedia.com I have very mixed feelings about this camera. Coming from shooting on Canon XL-2's for a few years- I feel like I upgraded AND downgraded at the same time. The VG-10 kinda seems like too much camera for the people it is "supposed" to be for. It says Handycam right on the thing, yet, no average family home video guy is going to use it to it's full potential. Along with that, it isn't enough camera for the professional, lacking SO many functions that I am shocked it doesn't have. -30p only -Very poor audio control. No XL-R ports, no level control or monitoring, can't turn off AGC. (does have a mini mic jack for external mics, and a really great onboard mic) -No zebra bars -No ND filter -No time laps Who was this camera made for?? I guess cheap guys like me. 2000 bucks for 1080 HD, C-MOS sensor for Shallow DOF and great color, Nikon lens option, tapeless format, doesn't shut off in 20 minutes due to overheating, and all in a video camera body with a sweet mic and LCD? I guess I will live with all the other crap...

I had the opportunity to shoot with this wonderful video camera for 5 days. I didn't use any Sony Lens, only Nikon Lenses with a simple adapter from eBay. Have fun!
