• Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Review/Sample

One of canon's cheapest, shortest lenses. But still an extremely sharp lens.

  • Unboxing: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II and EF 85mm f/1.8 USM lenses

An unboxing video of the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II and Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM lenses, along with their respective lens hoods. Canon lens hoods are apparently sold separately for these particular lenses. My camera wasn't properly set for autofocus for the taping, so all the closeups are out of focus, I apologize. Hope you still get something out of the video. :) The background music is "Feedback Welcome" by Timo Maas. For sample pictures from both lenses, you can check my Flickr account at www.flickr.com

  • Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens Review

I used this lens with Canon 500D and didn't notice a huge difference in picture quality in comparison with the kit lens, therefore I've returned 15-85mm and bought a prime 50mm f/1.4. It was a good swap. This is my first review, so don't be too harsh in comments below :) Thanks for watching

  • Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Video Review

www.learningdslrvideo.com Some of the key points: * You can't zoom in and out with this lens while shooting video because of the aperture stops that you pass through * The IS works amazingly well, almost as good as my camcorder. * It is much heavier than my 50mm prime. * I think I need an ND filter sooner outside than I do with the 50mm prime. * It makes shooting video more complex, but shooting pictures is pretty fun. * Is it a good travel lens if it is some much heavier than the 50mm prime?

  • Canon EFS 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Zoom Lens For Digital SLR Cameras

www.robnunnphoto.com This lens comes as the standard kit glass with most entry-level Canon SLR's, but that doesn't mean it's not a good option for those of us who haven't tried a wide IS lens before. The 18mm wide angle is good for landscapes and interiors, and at 55mm this lens steps into portrait territory, so it's an excellent walk around lens, especially if you can team it up with the longer 55-250 IS. Thanks, Rob.

  • Canon 15-85mm and 7D

A Quick look at EFS 15-85mm Lens from canon. Maybe I should have mentioned all this in the video but you can read it here: @sadiqalmo I have had this lens for a week now and have taken around 700 pictures and I just looked through my pictures to answer your question. * I don't see any chromatic aberration, there are a few shots in low light (with very slow shutter speeds) that seem to be chromatic aberration but i think it may have more to do with camera shake. * There is definite distortion at 15mm. I wouldn't call it large, and its hard to notice unless you take a picture of something straight and it shows up a bit curvy. Distortion is most easily noticeable when you pan horizontally. But then again, its a zoom lens so its hard to not have distortion. Final word on distortion: its not a lot and it doesn't bother me personally. * Vignetting is only a problem when zoomed in. Most of my shots that are zoomed in don't have vignetting but some do. Its most noticeable when taking picture something with same color in a large part of the frame (like a blue sky). I would recommend it, and the reason i got this over the 17-40 F/4L, 17-55 F/2.8 or 24-105f4/L is because i wanted something that can do wide angle and decent telephoto (on a crop frame body). Few other things i want to mention: - Image Stabilizer is amazing, you can pull off hand held shots at 1/8 shutter speed if you are steady. - Lens creep from 50-24mm range just like the review from camera labs shows. - Although i ...

  • Value of a Prime Lens

Zoom lenses are so popular that many photographers do not know there is an important alternative, the single-focal length or prime lens. Here's how to use one. The example used is a Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 lens.

  • Canon T4i (650D) Autofocus Video Test (Audio and Focus Speed) with Canon 85mm f/1.8

Just a quick video showing the speed and in-camera audio of the new autofocus feature on the Canon T4i/650D with a Canon 85mm f/1.8. My advice is, if you are looking to use this body without a new STM lens, be prepared to use an alternative audio source like a Zoom H4N, or you're going to get a lot of unwanted internal mechanism audio. That being said, it is a nice feature to have and a hint of things to come for the new 7D MKII and 70D/60DMKII.
