Для управления композицией достаточно наклонять объектив в нужную сторону, а наведение на резкость осуществляется сжиманием и растяжением подвижной части объектива. Для изменения значения диафрагмы используются сменные диски с отверстиями. Классическое фокусное расстояние объектива, равное 50 мм, позволяет применять данный объектив практически в любом жанре съемки.
