• Sigma 70-300mm APO DG MACRO Lens Unboxing and Review

***** [REVIEW BELOW] ***** Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO Lens for Nikon. I got this lens on the 30th of May 2009. In the box: Lens, Lens Hood, Pouch and Manual. Note that the filter was given free-of-charge in the store, so it's already been attached when I unboxed it. Specifications: 550g, magnification of 1:2, HyperSonicMotor, price: US$280 Handling Info: For Normal Use, the Manual Focus barrel does not turn that much. Macro can be used at 200mm-300mm only. The focus barrel fully extends in Macro mode. My REVIEW This lens is great for beginners and those who have a budget capon their lenses. Since the barrel moves physically outwards, you can tell that this is not a really professional and great lens. The pro lens are like 70-200, 24-75 Nikkor Lenses. They have an internal zooming and focusing element while this one doesn't. Also, the minimum aperture of this lens is F4, which is 2 stops above a recommendable fast F2.8 throughout. However, the advantage of this lens against those F2.8lenses is that this lens is light and therefore more mobile. It is also much cheaper than those pro lens which costs at least $1500. The only reason to buy this lens is that you are a kid, which is me, who depends on your parent's money to buy things, hence you do not dare waste too much money in case something goes wrong. This is a right point, because whe you grow up you can use your own money to buy the better 70-200mm lens. That means, if you are adult reading this, you should have ...

Two FLD glass elements, which have the performance equal to fluorite glass have also been added along with three SLD glass elements, all which provide excellent correction of color aberration. In spite of the additions of all of these features, Sigma has managed to make the lens more compact than its predecessor, measuring only 7.8" in length. For any serious photographer where the 70-200mm focal range is often the most important second lens to own after the initial standards lens or mid range zooms. The fast aperture is extremely useful and important in low light environments or when shooting fast moving situations where a higher shutter speed demands maximum lights thru the lens. HSM ensures quiet and high speed AF as well as full-time manual focus capability. Super Multi-Layer lens coating reduces flare ghosting and assures high image quality throughout the entire zoom range. It has a minimum focusing distance of 55.1 inches throughout the entire zoom range and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:8 ...

  • Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 EX OS Review

froknowsphoto.com Click Here to access the sample RAW Files. Sigma recently announced their new 50-150 2.8 OS lens for both Nikon and Canon cropped sensor cameras. This is a very interesting range, it is similar to what you would find on a full frame camera if you were to use a 70-200 2.8. On a Canon cropped sensor camera this lens would be a 80-240mm 2.8 and on the Nikon it would be a 75-225 2.8. What this means is you have an amazing range for everything from sports to portraits. • Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 OS HSM Initial Review - Nikon Mount D7000

The 50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM APO Lens for Nikon F from Sigma is a fast f/2.8 telephoto zoom lens with a 50-150mm focal length (75-225mm equivalent in 35mm format) designed for cameras with a Nikon F mount. This long autofocus telephoto gets you close to the action, and it has an optical image stabilization system that makes it possible to hand-hold the lens at up to four shutter speeds slower than usual, while maintaining sharp, shake-free images. The Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) gives you quiet, high-speed autofocus, and also allows full-time manual focus override. Six SLD glass elements help prevent chromatic aberrations, and provide excellent image quality throughout the zoom range. Super Multi Coating on the glass surfaces reduces flare and ghosting, and helps ensure high-contrast images. The 9-blade diaphragm gives a very pleasing quality to the out-of-focus areas of your photos (generally known as bokeh). A built-in tripod collar provides a solid mount when it's placed on a tripod. • The Sigma 150mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM APO Macro

The latest version of the Sigma 150mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM APO Macro is now optically stabilized with a 1 to 1 magnification ratio with internal focusing so you can make amazing shots of even the smallest of subjects. This telephoto macro lens is ideal for shooting subjects and details that remainvirtually unseen to the naked eye, and the large aperture allows you take sharp images of even fast moving subjects with very shallow depth of field.
