    I popped the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 on my T2i for a quick test shot at a camera store in Sacramento, CA called Pardees Cameras (pardeescameras.com For a very fast lens under $500 (compare to the L-Series which is $1500), I was very impressed with the depth of field. However, you absolutely cannot shoot handheld while wide-open with this lens. Not only is the DOP too shallow, but the jello-effect of the rolling shutter in really amplified while wide-open. Since the T2i is a crop-frame APS-C camera, the lens effectively becomes about 90mm, so it's good for close-ups and medium shots. I really love this lens and plan on purchasing it in the future when I encounter the right video. I highly recommend it for very shallow depth of field and low-light.
