mangozero presents DIY GoPro HD Hero mount and pole tested on mountain bike 1) Super Clamp I used one of these: MANFROTTO 035 SUPER CLAMP DOUGHTY G1160 SUPACLAMP STAIRVILLE UNIVERSALKLAMMER around eur 15,- best to buy in europe at www.thomann.de 2) Alu stick I bought in our local metal store a cubic aluminium tube. 15mm x 15mm x 1,5mm around eur 2,-/meter looks like this: 62.75.219.46 3) In the video I used 3 different types. a) GoPro directly on Super Clamp -- stable, no camera shake b) SuperClamp on one end of 60cm (2feet) stick fixed with 2 screws, GoPro on other end with GoPro-TripodMount -- quite stable, but on terrain a little bit of camera shake c) SuperClamp on one end of 110cm (2.5feet) stick fixed with 2 screws, GoPro on other end with GoPro-TripodMount -- quite shaky, superclamp has to be tightened hard, but on terrain unhandy because of the length, could easily hit sth.

Super Clamp Review: Adorama ($17) vs. Bogen-Manfrotto ($27)
I finally bought a "Super Clamp" for my photography gear bag since all of the reviews and strobist forums call this one of the "must have" pieces of gear. You use it to clamp onto a pipe or door 2.5" wide or less, and with the attached metal stud (with 1/4" threaded end) you can attach a speedlight flash or something else. The Bogen-Manfroto "Super Clamp" is the standard while there are many cheaper imitations around. I wanted to know what's the difference in $10 worth "functionally" for these types of clamps. To sum it up, the Bogen-Manfroto just works better -- like it should. The stud is secured and doesn't fall out with just using the release pin, the triangular piece stays put for clamping on to flat surfaces, the threads turn smoothly, and finally it doesn't smell like paint. PS- This video was shot with my iPhone 3GS and got inverted, hope you don't mind too much! PSS- Video shows Adorama Pro Clamp with Reversible Mounting Stud. 1/4 x 20 and 3/8 Screw Threads (LTPC) and Manfrotto Super Clamp with Standard Stud (#2900), can get Bogen Super Clamp w/Reversible Short Stud (#2909) for +$2.

Using a super clamp to mount your Zoom H4n on your boom pole - DSLR FILM NOOB
www.dslrfilmnoob.com Super Clamps are handy little devices. You don't have to use them with a manfrotto magic arm for them to come in handy. One Great use for them is mounting your zoom h4n. Using the stud that comes with your super clamp you can mount a threaded cold show adapter rcm.amazon.com or threading it into the super clamp stud: rcm.amazon.com Either way provide you with a great way to mount your zoom h4n to your boom pole. The zoom h4n is light enough that you wont be over taxed by the extra weight, and with the multiple mounting options on a super clamp you could always mount a wireless transmitter/receiver to send audio out or bring it in from other sources. When i have to operate the boom mic from long distances I often attach a wireless transmitter to send my audio back to the camera. That way my 7d has a good solid sync track for dualeyes to work with.
